Police arrest four Eiye confraternity members in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested four members of Eiye confraternity in Iwesi area of Ijebu-Ode.
The police in its commitment to rid the State of violent cult groups, arrested the suspects while planning to carry out a violent attack on a rival cult group in the area.
The arrest of the suspects, according to a statement by the Command’s Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi in Abeokuta on Wednesday was as a result of information received by the Command that the Eiye cult group were holding meeting in a hideout at Iwesi area of Ijebu-Ode in a bid to carry out a deadly attack in the area. 
“On receiving the information, the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama gave a marching order to the officer in-charge Special anti-robbery squad, Tijani Mohammed to move into the area in order to prevent the cultists from carrying out the attack,” Oyeyemi said.
The police stormed the hideout of the cultists and they were arrested.
The suspects are, Tunde Olabinjo, Raheem Ibrahim, Tawaq Azeez and Bisoye Ajayi.
Items recovered from them were, One cut to size single barrel gun, one locally made pistol and one battle axe.
According to Oyeyemi, the suspects have all confessed being members of the Eiye cult group and that they were planning to launch an attack on a rival cult group within Ijebu-Ode before they were arrested.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police had ordered a serious manhunt for the remaining members of the group with the view to bring them to justice.
