The Plateau State House of Assembly on Friday passed a budget of N213 billion for the expenditure of the state this fiscal year, 2014.
The Speaker, Mr Titus Alams, who presided over the session said that the budget targeted the completion of all ongoing projects in the state. He said that it was made up of a total recurrent expenditure of N81.1 billion and a capital provision of N131 billion. The budget was passed after its third reading.
The speaker directed the Clark of the House to produce a clean copy to be forwarded to the governor for assent. Governor Jonah Jang submitted an appropriation of N228.7 billion to the assembly on December 19, 2013 for approval.
In the budget of “Continuity and Inclusive Growth IV’’, N81.6 billion was earmarked for recurrent expenditure, while N147.1 billion was for capital expenditure.
