Enugu Police arrests suspect over fake motorcycle receipts


police_logo_highresThe Enugu State Police Command has arrested one Chioma Ezeh, 30, who claimed to hail from Adaziani town in Aniocha local Government Area of Anambra over issuance of fake motorcycle purchase receipts to motorcycle snatchers.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Mr Ebere Amaraizu, on Monday in Enugu.
According to the statement, the suspect was arrested within Akamaoghe in Ezeagu where she issued fake motorcycle receipts to motorcycle snatchers. She was nabbed by security operatives who have been keeping watch on her based on information received from members of the public concerning her alleged nefarious activities.
It said that the public gave the police information of her forging and selling of fake purchase receipts to motorcycle snatchers to enable them change ownership and obtain licences and plate numbers.
She has revealed that she issued fake receipts to the motorcycle snatchers and collected from them one thousand naira and five hundred naira respectively. Items recovered from her included two blank purchasing receipts ready to be issued, some fake number plates, and a lady’s motorcycle believed to have been stolen. She is helping the operatives in their investigations.
