Warsaw (dpa) Poland on Friday said it would extend closure of schools, kindergartens and nurseries until at least May 24, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Education Minister Dariusz Piatkowski announced.
Piatkowski, however, said schools would continue to conduct online classes.
“High school final exams will be moved from May to June, starting on June 8, and will take only written form. Primary school final exams will take place in mid-June.
“At the same time, the government is mulling opening some schools to allow them to take care of smaller children. A decision on the matter will be made in the coming days,“ Piatkowski said.
According to the Health Ministry, Poland has so far confirmed 10,759 cases of the novel coronavirus with 463 deaths.
