The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Movement Church Worldwide has urged politicians and those in the ruling class to rule and run a good country with fear of God as 2019 elections are approaching.
Most Rev. Samuel Abidoye, who is the Spiritual Father and Chairman of the C&S Church, said that leaders needed to change from their inaccurate ways and embrace honesty. He said what was happening in Nigeria today was also happening in some countries, adding that some politicians were not true in carrying out their duties.
“The old politicians are not like the new ones. The old politicians take people more important but these ones do not mind if people they are leading are comfortable or not. Most of our politicians are not politicians. Some are looters, they want to take the whole money, and I don’t know what they want to do with such money.
“Such politicians have to be changed or we pray to God to remove them. That is why we are having problems. We appeal to our politicians to be careful and they should run a good country for us where many things will become possible.”
Abidoye, however, called on Nigerians to reduce the high rate of killings in the country and stay peacefully wherever they found themselves.
He also urged Christians to embrace the yuletide period with love, peace and harmony as Christmas was approaching, adding that everybody should pray for peace and harmony. According to him, the issue of killing is nearly everywhere not just in Nigeria, it is terrible even on the newspapers we read; the first thing we see is killings, where are we going?
“We should remember that Nigeria is our country; we have no place to go. Where some are comfortable and some are not comfortable, eventually there will be eruption. People will not wait anymore and once they come to reality, they do not mind the violence. I am appealing to everybody to take up prayer and make prayer your power and I am sure God will help us. Everybody should pray because we have to return to God.
“Let us pray for Nigeria to send helpers to us and make Nigerians to respect each other. I am not very happy with what is experienced in the northern part of our country.”
The 2018 annual adult thanksgiving and harvest programme was tagged: “Harvest of Kingdom Exploits’’, taken from the Book of Daniel Chapter 11 Verse 32. The lesson says the people that do good and know God shall be strong and carry out great exploits. The Church also conducted a special prayer for peace in the nation, particularly for the upcoming 2019 general elections.
The celebrations were attended by six districts comprising Minna, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Kogi, Kano and FCT .
