The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State chapter on Monday described the victory of Governor Dapo Abiodun at the Court of Appeal, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital as a confirmation of the “divine mandate” given to the party and the Governor at the Saturday, March 9 election.

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) and its Governorship candidate in the State, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade had filed a 20-ground appeal to challenge the judgement of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

The three-member Tribunal, headed by Justice Halilu Yusuuf had dismissed Akinlade and his party’s petition, challenging the victory of Abiodun for lack of evidence to substantiate their allegations.

But reacting to Monday’s judgement, the Publicity Secretary of the party’s Caretaker Committee, Tunde Oladunjoye, said that the judgement would put an end to the “side distractions of this budding political association touting unmerited mandate.”

Oladunjoye who spoke at a press conference held at the party’s Secretariat, Abeokuta, the State capital, congratulated the Governor and the party for what he described as a well deserved victory.

He also described the judgement as a true reflection of the overwhelming wishes of Ogun People, freely expressed at the polls.

The party called on the opposition and other well meaning indigenes of the State to join hands with the Governor in moving the State forward.

“Politicians and non-politicians who genuinely desire the peace and progress of our dear State should join hands with our Governor, who believes in politics without bitterness”, Oladunjoye said.
